bdotp Drabblefest. Beta by my one true love Sam. A little something I wrote after New Year's Eve, a bit on the fluffy side.
New Year's Eve. 8 PM
Dom walks down to the beach, his eyes on the man watching the horizon, the tide washing on his feet.
Billy’s skin is warm underneath the soft green cotton of the shirt, as Dom gently grabs his shoulders from behind, leaning against him.
He nestles his face against Billy’s neck, and murmurs “I’m so glad you came”.
Billy smiles – Dom can feel it in his voice – and answers “I’m glad I came, too.”
“No second thoughts?”
“No second thoughts.”
Dom smiles, too, and his hands slide down to circle Billy’s waist, joining at the front.
They stay like this for a long, quiet moment, Dom soaking himself in Billy’s warmth and in his long-missed scent, Billy tracing the shape of Dom’s long fingers with his own.
The sun starts to disappear below the sea, setting the water on fire, and Dom smiles against Billy’s neck, his breath whispering softly against his skin: “We’d better get back inside, Doodle will be waiting to leave for the party.”
“Yeah, you’re right...”
Billy turns, and touches his forehead to Dom’s, eyes closed. “Let’s go then.”
He opens his eyes, takes Dom’s hand smiling, and together they walk back to the house.
New Year's Eve. 0.00 AM
When the clock strikes midnight, everything around them is sheer madness: people laugh, scream, drink, kiss and dance, jumping at each other with drunken delight.
Leaning against a wall with a half-full glass of whisky in his hand, Billy looks at Dom, who certainly has had a good share of the consumption of the night’s alcohol. He has been dancing, sweat plasters his hair to his head and his clothes to his body, and has come up to him on hearing the countdown, eyes shining and a kiss ready on his lips.
While the people in the room go crazy, Billy tastes smoke and alcohol and lust in Dom’s mouth, the searching hunger of his lips a wonderful promise for the New Year.
Billy glances at the festive, noisy crowd around them, then looks back into Dom’s eyes.
“Let’s get out of here”, he whispers in his ear, smiling when he feels him shiver.
"I want to take you home and have our own celebration".
Dom leans for a moment against him, nuzzling his neck, then smiles, slipping his hand into Billy’s. “I’m sure Lij will find a lift somehow”, he says, and starts walking him towards the door.
New Year's Day. 9 AM
Billy blinks uncertainly, his tired eyes hurt even by the soft light filtering through the curtains of Dom’s bedroom.
He closes them again, exhaling slowly...the clock says 9 AM, and it’s way too early to get up. Billy’s arms hold Dom tighter, his body enjoying all the warmth coming from his skin.
Legs are tangled together and in the sheets, arms gently holding, chests moving in unison, in rest as they did the night before while making love.
Dom’s mouth moves against Billy’s chest, just a sleepy mumble.
A kiss brushes blond hair, with a whisper: “Too early yet, Dommie...sleep.”
New Year's Day. 2 PM
Soft lips brush his neck, and Billy smiles, slowly emerging from the mists of sleep.
A warm body presses upon his, and Dom gently wakes every inch of his skin up with a downward trail of light kisses.
Hot lips and a wet mouth awaken Billy completely, only to leave him spent and sleepy again, after the tide has washed upon him.
Strong arms around him, and a low whisper: “Shouldn’t we get up now?”.
Billy’s lips curl into a smile, his fingertips sliding down the curve of Dom’s back: “Just give me one good reason to leave this bed.”.
